Foodie Friday: Sumptuous Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Foodie Friday: Sumptuous Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

My grocery bill has increased exponentially the past month for a simple reason: my favorite fruits are in season. My fridge is filled to the brim with a bounty of strawberries, peaches, melons, cherries, plums, apricots, mangoes, raspberries and blueberries.

I love eating them as fresh as I can get ’em but my second favorite way is in desserts so we’ve had a steady stream of fruit pies, cobblers, crisps and galettes.

My family has a beloved recipe for strawberry shortcake but we usually enjoy it most when we mix up the fruit toppings. So, whether it is just strawberries or a medley of your favorites, the sky is the limit and enjoy.

At least until we have to go back to eating pears, apples and bananas all winter.strawberry
