Denver Deal: Jax, Jamba and Door to Door Organics

Have you seen a concert at the Botanic Gardens? Did you even know that they host concerts there? My kids and I went to see Barenaked Ladies (no this is not porn that I was ok with my kids viewing). The venue and the evening were great. The concert venue is a giant lawn and the seats that are allowed in are limited in height – so you can see around everyone. There were people there that were “pros” and had obviously gone to concerts there before (they had full meal, chairs, table/cooler, table cloth) which paled in comparison to the run to King Soopers for a deli sandwich that we had done. (There were also vendors there so if you forgot you could just buy a meal there). The band was GREAT (more on that on my review at Examiner.com) and very family friendly (including the lead singer bringing his kids on stage with him to play a song. Old and young alike seemed to have a great time. I can’t wait to take my kids back!

FREE DAYS
If you can’t make a concert at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfiled you can go and at least walk the grounds (for free) onTuesday, August 5. Then spend Tuesday evening (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at the Children’s Museum of Denver for free.

 Happy Oyster Day!

On August 5th, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm is a magic hour at all Jax locations where FREE oysters will be served to all (and the downtown location will have Gov. Hickenlooper as head oyster shucker). Ongoing deals for the evening include $1.25 oysters before and after that hour, $3 Dixie Lagers, $5 wine, $1 off all brews from The Post Brewing Company, and $2 Oyster shooters.
 

Bass Pro Shops University
Bass Pro Shops in Stapleton is offering a new Women’s Hunting Workshop on August 9 starting at 3 p.m.  While you are there you can register for a chance to win a folding Knife or a pair of binoculars. Plus the first 25  women will get a free tumbler. While you’re in the workshop the kids can have fun with a FREE BB shooting range (from noon to 5 p.m.), free kids workshops “Fall In The Outdoors” at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., free crafts (wood fox or squirrel clip) and free giveaways (Fox Drawstring backpack to the first 100 kids to complete a punch card).
