Cabela’s brings TWO locations to the Denver area (one in Thornton and one in Lone Tree) on Thursday, August 15th. Even if your family has not yet gotten into doing a ton of stuff outdoors – you should visit the store anyway. It is like a museum inside a store complete with a built-in aquarium and wildlife displays. Try your hand at the Indoor Archery Range (my first one actually got on the paper target – I’m still not taking on Katniss) or take a bit of Fudge Home. Any way you slice it – it is a free field trip you should take. Grand Opening Celebrations being at 11 a.m. on August 15th.
Kids/Teen Night on Broadway
Denver Center participates in the Kids Night on Broadway, an audience development program of The Broadway League, the national trade association of the Broadway industry. Use the promo code KNOB when ordering. Some restrictions apply.
Goldstar comes to Denver
Goldstar is a half-price ticket outlet with great tickets. I have seen tickets to theatrical shows from Cirque Du’Soliel Amaluna to smaller venues like the Fox Theater to sporting events like the Colorado Rapids. What I love about this site is you still are in full control of what day/time you go – and tickets run anywhere from Comp (FREE) passes to just over 1/2 price. They are all GREAT deals to the shows we really want to go to! Membership is FREE – you just have to add your email address.
Chipotle Cultivate
Chipotle is at it again with the Cultivate Festival. The Festival brings together farmers, chefs, thought leaders, artists, musicians, and participants (like you), on a journey towards a world of more sustainable, wholesome and delicious food. The event is at Denver City Park on Saturday, August 17 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chasing Ice Free Movie Screening
Chasing Ice is a film about acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog and his revolutionary time-lapse cameras used to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. His videos compress years into seconds and capture mountains of ice in motion as they disappear. There will be a quick survey before and after the movie. The screenings will take place on August 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Oriental Theater ( 4335 W 44th Ave. Denver Co 80212) and August 29 at 7 p.m. at the Mercury Cafe (2199 California St. Denver CO, 80205)
