Macaroni Grill’s Summer Uncorked | Enter to win $25 gift card

Macaroni Grill for the girls

What are the three key ingredients for a perfect summer get-together?

  • Yummy food
  • Delicious drinks
  • Fabulous company

I hit the trifecta this week at my local Macaroni Grill to celebrate its Summer Uncorked season — and you can too through August 25 (bring your own friends) at the participating U.S. Macaroni Grill nearest you. There are 7 in the Denver-metro area, probably one close by.

My Vino Support Group was invited to check out Macaroni Grill’s seasonal wine and food menus and as a bonus, we dined outside on the patio for a delightful midsummer evening. Our waiter, Kevin, who later sang opera to us, pointed out that we could order any two tapas for only $9. He also explained that Summer Uncorked offers a large selection of half-price wines all day, every day — from under $3 a glass to under $14 a bottle. Irresistible to a group that has Vino in the title!

We were able to pair half-price wines with dishes such as Penne Rustica, Shrimp Portofino or this summer’s featured entree, Chicken Under a Brick.  As someone with food allergies, I was impressed when Kevin brought me an Allergen Information sheet so I was able to make informed decisions. Nice touch, Macaroni Grill.

For a main dish, Jeannie and Michelle decided to share the Salad Sampler.

I opted for Pasta Carbonara, which ended up feeding me twice (though stopping halfway through took considerable self-restraint).

We left room for dessert, a Ginger Peach Torta and, of course, Tiramisu. It was a flawless evening making for happy ladies.

Summer Uncorked is enthusiastically endorsed by the Vino Support Group. Macaroni Grill is offering additional wine pairings and specials throughout the summer. You can keep up with Summer Uncorked news via Twitter and Facebook.

Disclosure: I received a gift certificate to spend at Macaroni Grill for purposes of writing an honest post about the experience.
