Free Summer Concerts and Movies

I love summer in Denver because you can always catch a free concert – and spend some time outside with the family! Bring a blanket, chair and a picnic dinner.
Streets at Southglenn
The concerts begin at 6:30 every Wednesday (except July 4). June 5th – Message in a Bottle; June 19th – Dr. Kool; July 10th – Forever Fab; July 24th – Juke Box Boy’s; August 7th – The Long Run
August 21st -The Margarita Brothers
Southlands in Aurora (6155 S. Main Street) will host concerts each Friday starting at 6 p.m. June 7 – Nacho Men; June 14 – Honky Tonk VooDoo; June 21 – Tunisia; June 28 – Six Million Dollar Band; July 5 – Hazel Miller; July 12 – Fab Four; July 19 – Moses Jones Band; July 26 – Soul School; August 2 – Under a Blood Red Sky; August 9 – Steve Thomas Band; August 16 – Hot Lunch; August 23 – Chris Daniels & The Kings; August 30 – Rock & Roll All Star Jam
Southlands also offers an event series called KidTopia each Thursday 5:30 to 7:30 with special focus. June 6 – Animals; June 13 – Science; June 20 – Arts & Culture; June 27 – Sports

Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Highland Heritage Park is the place to be in Highlands Ranch.

Offering both Thursday evening concerts (geared toward the whole family) and Saturday morning geared toward pre-school and school-aged children. Thursday evenings are 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays are 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. All events are at Grant Ampitheater at Clement Park.

Concerts are Wednesday night at E.B. Rains Park starting at 6:30 p.m.

Year round, Golden’s downtown merchants offer extended hours and special deals and events on the first Friday of each month, but during the months of June through October, First Fridays include a lively Street Fair on Washington Avenue including entertainment, music, specialty foods from Golden restaurants, and more.
Concerts in the park are free at City Park (104th & Sheridan) they are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
June 21 – Nacho Men; Thursday, July 4 – Heartbeat; Thursday, July 18 – Soul School; August 10 – Westminster Faire (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) featuring two stages of entertainment, activities, food & vendor booths.
Denver Skyline Park Movies
All movies begin at dusk. (We suggest you get there early to get a good seat).
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: July 6 at Skyline Park; A League of Their Own: July 13 at Skyline Park; Under the Same Moon (La Misma Luna): Thursday July 18 (Bike-in at Civic Center Park); Lion King: July 20 at Skyline Park; Finding Nemo: July 27 at Skyline Park; Despicable Me: Friday August 2 (Bike-in at Civic Center Park); Father of the Bride: August 3 at Skyline Park; The Amazing Spider Man: August 10 at Skyline Park; The Goonies: Friday August 16 (Bike-in at Civic Center Park); E.T.: August 17 at Skyline Park; Hotel Transylvania: August 24 at Skyline Park; Billy Madison: Friday September 13 (Bike-in at Civic Center Park).
Lakewood is now charging for their concert series – and seeing as though there are plenty of other things to do for FREE, I’m NOT posting their series. (Read – hey Lakewood, that’s kind of lame). If you are interested they do have it posted on their website.
