6 Must-Have Apps for Shopping and Spreading Holiday Cheer

posted by:

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. My favorite. While I absolutely love this season, I could do without some of the stress it brings. Shopping, shipping, decorating, keeping the kids out of the Christmas lights and presents, baking, and everything else the season brings. Thankfully, there are a few apps that can help keep us organized and on budget. If I missed your favorite, please feel free to share it in the comments below!

Appygraph (FREE) iPhone is an outstanding way to send fun, personalized eCards or snail mail holiday cards to family and friends. I love the selection and the added bonus of being able to create family Christmas cards within the app and have them mailed to family and friends with the touch of a button is a great time saver! If you want to go green this year, the app gives you plenty of e-sharing options.

Red Laser (FREE) for iPhone makes finding the best deals as easy as pointing your phone’s camera at the item in question. Shopping at target for that toy your daughter just has to have? Is the price scaring you? Simply whip out Red Laser and see who else is selling the item for a better deal. Save your budget and cut your shopping time in half.

Gift Plan ($2.99) iPhone helps you simplify the process of gift giving. Create profiles within the app for everyone you plan to give to shower with gifts (or a lump of coal). Customize everyone’s wish lists, pricing, import birthdays and special occasions from Facebook, and more. This is the app that keeps on giving all year long because it’s great for more than just the holidays.

Jetsetter (FREE) iPhone is a tremendous tool for anyone traveling to be with family or friends this Christmas. The self-proclaimed “#1 travel app for inspiration, last-minute stays and easy booking” is no joke. Get exclusive deals at more than just hotels for your travels. Save on cruises, spa, resorts and so much more. Make your Christmas travel arrangements more fun (and still stay within your budget)!

Slice (FREE) iPhone makes budgeting your online spending a breeze. See your web receipts, track your packages and keep a close eye on your budget. It’s so easy and it’s free! It’s just so easy to let spending online get out of hand…after all, it just takes a click to buy that expensive espresso machine. This app will help keep you on track and take some of the am-I-still-on-track-for-the-Christmas budget stress away. Who wants to start the new year off in more debt? Not me!

Delivery Status Touch ($2.99) universal for iOS helps make sure your packages get where they are supposed to. Make sure grandma receives the deluxe crochet kit you got her and your brother gets his new sound system without a hitch. Need to be home to sign for a package? Delivery Status Touch helps you make sure you’re there when it comes.

Thank you for the great app suggestions, Hanna. These have really come in handy during many trips to the mall with my wife; in fact, we have another trip to the mall planed for tonight after I get home from my shift at DISH. I wouldn’t be looking forward to another trip to the madness, but I discovered an essential app of my own. It’s the DISH Remote Access app, and thanks to it, I will be sitting in the mall lounge watching live TV on my phone, while my wife fights the crowds and the craziness. I would feel bad, but we finished our shopping list weeks ago; I don’t know why we are going back.
