  1. Gretchen, you did a great job! My family is a lot smaller but we’re definitely feeling the pinch at the pump. The only time I fill my car completely up is on roadtrips. The rest of the time, it hovers around half-full. I shudder to think how much it will cost to fill up with the recent bump in costs.

  2. Thanks! I, too, don’t always fill up the tank to the top. I bought gas today and it was $99.65—and that wasn’t for a full tank!

    Oh, well. I wouldn’t trade in our big family for a fleet of full gasoline trucks. It’s all about sacrificing what’s not really important right now to focus on what is important. I think it’s good for the kids to see how we tackle tough times. Compared with the rest of the world, we still have it very, very good.
