Inside the Orchestra’s Tiny Tots Performances @ Boulder Jewish Community Center
May 1 @ 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Tiny Tots gets children truly inside the orchestra by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with a 30+ piece orchestra. Designed for children six and under, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the conductor and the musicians and learn about the instruments in the process. Tiny Tots audiences receive an up-close-and-personal performance in a casual, fun environment. The experience is one-of-a-kind!
Highlights of the Spring Tiny Tots season: Kids will get to grow with music and hear music that sounds like waves, dancers from Hannah Kahn Dance Studio will perform, and an opera singer from Central City Opera will join us for an opera classic. From orchestra classics to modern movie music, kids will learn that orchestra music is all around them.
Performances are at 9:30 and 10:45.

The Oddest Sea: Greek Gods and Giggles @ Chautauqua Picnic Shelter
Jun 3 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Odysseus learns the hard way that one shouldn’t anger Poseidon. Ten years after the fall of Troy, our hero is still unable to make it home where, unbeknownst to him, his wife is being courted by 108 suitors! Set sail up the trail with us and encounter gods and goddesses, a cyclops, a whirlpool, a sea-witch, and more in this humorous adaptation of the Greek classic that would please even Zeus himself.

Audience and actors meet at the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter and take a moderate hike on the Enchanted Mesa Trail while scenes from the play are performed along the way. Approximate length of the hike is two miles with an elevation gain of 400 feet.

Audience members are encouraged to bring camping chairs and/or blankets and mats to sit on while watching the scenes. Water, sunscreen and hats are suggested and comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing are strongly encouraged. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held under the Picnic Shelter.

Buy early! Each hike is capped at low numbers and tends to sell out in advance.  Recommended for all ages.
