Inside the Orchestra’s Tiny Tots Performances @ McNichols Building

Tiny Tots gets children truly inside the orchestra by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with a 30+ piece orchestra. Designed for children six and under, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the conductor and the musicians and learn about the instruments in the process. Tiny Tots audiences receive an up-close-and-personal performance in a casual, fun environment. The experience is one-of-a-kind!
Highlights of the Fall Tiny Tots season: Dive deep into a world of magical music full of playing pretend and storytelling this October. The orchestra will be joined by special guests from the Hannah Kahn Dance Company, Central City Opera, and more!
Performances are at 9:30 and 10:45.

Vintage Halloween Family Fest @ Ramada Plaza

Enjoy a day of old-fashioned, family-oriented Halloween fun and activities at the debut of the Vintage Halloween Family Fest! The event is indoors at the Ramada Plaza Denver North, I-25 at 120th, on Sunday, October 29, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm!

For just $5, the Vintage Halloween Family Fest offers pumpkin bowling, bounce houses, carnival games, costume contests, open mic ghost stories, apple bobbing, mask-making, face painting, caramel apple decorating, trick-or-treat scavenger hunt, tarot readers and more!

“It’s going to be a blast,” says organizer Dana Cain, owner of Dana Cain Events. “People have been wanting me to do a Halloween Festival for years, and we are making it happen! This one is indoors, family-friendly and a perfect way to spend the Sunday before Halloween!”

The 1:00 pm Costume Contest is open to the public, with prizes for adults and children in 4 categories: Spookiest, Funniest, Cutest and Best in Show. Winners get Monster Money, to spend at any vendor booth at the show, and Best in Show winners get trophies! Other stage activities include aerial apple bobbing at noon, and open mic ghost stories at 2:00.

Ongoing creative activities include a Halloween craft booth where kids can make and decorate masks, witch wands and more, as well as a Decorate-Your-Own Caramel Apple station, hosted by Sweet Addict Bakery.

Attendees can also try out the festival’s three lanes of Pumpkin Bowling, where a pumpkin is substituted for the bowling ball. Face painting, Carnival games, a bounce house and plenty of candy round out the fun! Halloween-themed vendors will also be on hand, along with a gypsy fortune teller.

Hours are 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, and the Ramada Plaza Denver North is located on the southeast corner of I-25 at 120th. Tickets are just $5 the door. Children age 4 and under are admitted free, and parking is free. Admission into the adjoining North Denver Art & Antiques Fair is also included. More info is at www.vintagehalloweenfest.com

Trick-or-Treat on Mainstreet @ Mainstreet Parker
