The Christmas Mystery of the Missing Dinosaur Egg

My family has had quite a year of multiple hospital visits (heart surgery, anyone?) and ongoing misfortunes that would render even Murphy (as in the “Law”) speechless.
I resolved to kick 2011 to the curb by doing my holiday shopping and preparations early so I could feel like I had at least something under control.
Oh, how [...]

Denver judge rules low funding for Colorado schools is “unconscionable”

In a ruling that could have profound consequences for Colorado’s budget, a Denver judge Friday said the state’s school-funding system is not “thorough and uniform” as mandated by the state constitution.
The state’s school-funding system “is not rationally related to the mandate to establish and maintain a thorough and uniform system of free public schools,” District [...]

Practically every Denver middle school now invites fifth-graders and their parents to an open house. Many host fifth-graders as they “shadow” [...]

Colorado voter turnout shows high interest in education reform

Near-record campaign contributions, national media attention and large voter turnouts revealed deeper public interest in education in Colorado this year.
