Friday, April 22 is Earth Day. Wikipedia notes that in September 1969, at a conference in Seattle, Former Wisconsin governor and U.S. senator Gaylord Nelson announced there would be a nationwide demonstration advocating for the environment. It was held April 22, 1970.
