Have any plans for June 21st? Why not teach your children an invaluable lesson on how to give back to the community!?

If you have been looking for the motherlode of summertime fun in Denver, look no further! Charisse King has compiled a list of hundreds of activities that includes festivals, movies in the park, free days, bazaars, 4th of July celebrations, farmer’s markets and restaurants where kids eat free. Our information below will assuredly keep you hopping all summer long!
But before we delve into it all, Mile High Mamas is compiling a list of YOUR favorite summertime activities. Robbyn Hart will broadcast several of them on KOA radio’s “Your Kids” segment. So click here to share your favorite parks, festivals, games and playgrounds!
As a bonus, one of the entrants will receive a free one-to-two hour on-location photo shoot of her family in action, along with a mounted, textured 11×14 print from the shoot by Blue Prints Photography.
I can’t say enough good things about photographer Melissa Howell who recently did a photo shoot for my daughter. Melissa donates $25 from every session fee to Kiva.org and $10 from every purchase of prints is donated to the Matthew Budge Fund–a father of six young children and was recently diagnosed with a deadly form of cancer for which there is no cure.

Do you know a kid who is kind to animals? I don’t, which is precisely why my young children do not yet have any pets.
But for those who do, the American Humane Association is celebrating its 94th annual Be Kind to Animals Week, May 4-10. To highlight the event, American Humane is seeking nominations for kids, ages 6-17, who are working hard in their communities to improve the lives and welfare of animals.
To enter, fill out the nomination form at www.americanhumane.org/bkaw. Nominations must be submitted online or postmarked by April 15. Nominees must be between the ages of six and 17 during the time of nomination. The grand-prize winner and two runners-up will be selected from each of the two age groups and featured on American Humane’s Web site. Grand-prize winners will receive $2,000 in cash, which can be applied toward their causes.

Congratulations to Sheila L., winner of our MA! motherhood with attitude box set!
I made it perfectly clear when my husband and I got married that even though Valentine’s Day, our anniversary and my birthday fall on the same week, they are three separate and distinct occasions and should be celebrated as such. Yeah, right.
Valentine’s Day is the celebration that is often overlooked so I was excited when we were invited to the University of Colorado Hospital’s family-oriented Valentine’s Day celebration “Hearts of All Ages,” a fundraiser to support the Cardiac and Vascular Center. A family affair and a great cause? Count me in!
The celebration kicks off with a gourmet dinner catered to kids, something I had previously considered an oxymoron. It will be followed by dancing to the live music of “Big Bang,” face painting, Coconut the Clown, magic, and photos with Thunder, the official mascot of the Denver Broncos. Read on …
