Memorial Day weekend is the official kick-off to summer in Denver! Events include the Veteran’s’ Memorial Day Tribute, Water World opening, Boulder Creek Festival and the Denver Arts Festival. See our event calendar for additional details and hours.
Veteran’s Memorial Day Tribute
May 27, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Denver’s respected observance of Memorial Day is held at the historic POF Hall just south of the state capitol. The holiday “Tribute” ceremony honors Colorado’s fallen heroes in the presence of families, friends, military / political figures and the public. The annual Tribute continues to honor all fallen Colorado heroes & families on Memorial Day weekend.
Denver Day of Rock at Downtown Denver
May 27 , 2:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Denver Day of Rock is a free one-of-a-kind music event presented by Amp the Cause to raise awareness of the children in our community. This free event will feature five stages of live music throughout downtown Denver.
Water World Opening Weekend

Denver Mart Drive-in Opening Weekend

It’s opening weekend for the summer at the Denver Mart Drive-in. Coming Soon: Mart Café at the Drive In. Located inside their plaza building creating the opportunity for dinner, drinks and entertainment prior to the main features at the Drive In. Spirits for the adults 21 and older can be consumed indoors prior to the movies each night. Their digital projection system throws to the largest outdoor screen in the area,
Denver Arts Festival

Since 1999 the Denver Arts Festival (formerly the Downtown Denver Arts Festival) is a fine arts and fine crafts festival that continues to be dedicated to supporting Colorado artists while also showcasing a select group of national artists. The Denver Arts Festival holds its annual premier arts event in Stapleton’s Conservatory Green. The fine art and fine craft exhibition features some of Colorado’s and the nation’s best artists with over 50,000 people expected to attend.

Boulder Creek Festival

For over a quarter century, the Boulder Creek Festival® has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. Widely considered Boulder County’s favorite event, the Festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community. The Festival is free to the public and features something for everyone: 9 separate event areas with 500 vendors showcase everything from community arts and crafts to healthier alternatives and technology while 3 performance stages feature a spectrum of music and dance.
