The Treasures of Toothless Jack: A hiking play presented by Arts in the Open at Chautauqua Picnic Shelter 
Weekends September 17-October 30.
Remember those books where you got to choose your own adventure? In “The Treasures of Toothless Jack” by Joaquin Aviña, audience members get a chance to choose the path of the play’s two friends as they are pulled into a mystery, challenge bad guys and possibly end the debate of whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable.

Just Between Friends of Arvada Sale at Flatiron Marketplace
Sep 15 – 19 
Twice a year, Mile High Mamas does a round-up detailing Colorado’s popular children’s consignment sales. Thousands of shoppers find bargains on kids’ clothing for newborn-preteen, toys, strollers, furniture, baby equipment, books, shoes, maternity items and more…all at 50-90% below retail.

Fall Fest at Snow Mountain Ranch at Snow Mountain Ranch 
Sep 16 – Sep 18
Fall Fest weekends in September and October (September 16-18, September 23-25, September 30-October 2 and October 7-9) are back and filled with fall themed fun. Activities include a hay ride at Sombrero Stables, campfire and s’mores with mini golf, scarecrow building, carnival with doughnut bobbing, a fortune teller, pumpkin seed spitting contest and more, Human Hungry Hungry Hippos, cookie decorating and a movie night featuring the classic “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

Parker Oktoberfest 
Admission remains FREE for this family-friendly German-themed festival. The event includes a number of fun activities for children and great things for adults too! 

Joy Park Free Night at the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus

Taste of Grace at Grace Church of Arvada 
Sep 17 , 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
This free outdoor festival includes a classic car and motorcycle show, live music, free desserts, carnival games, a petting zoo, food trucks, and more.

Wag ‘N Trail at Glendale Farm Open Space 
Sep 17,  8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking with their dogs at Glendale Farm Open Space north of Castle Rock from 8 a.m. to noon while helping raise funds for the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center. Participants collect donations to earn prizes and gain entrance to the scenic 1.6-mile trail.

A Day Out With Thomas at the Colorado Railroad Museum 
Sep 17 – 18 
A Day Out With Thomas is an exciting way for children and grown-ups to enter the world of Thomas & Friends™. The event provides an opportunity for kids to ride onboard a train led by Thomas and have their pictures taken with Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of Thomas’ railway. Thomas the Tank Engine will speak when the train arrives and departs from the boarding area.

Summerset Festival at Clement Park

Summerset Festival was founded 32 years ago as a way to gather the community together to say good-bye to summer.

SuperTwins of the Rocky Mountains is a Colorado based nonprofit support group for families with triplets or higher order multiples. As the only group in Colorado dedicated to families with triplets, quadruplets, etc., don’t miss their annual sale.

1830s Rendezvous and Spanish Colonial Art Market at The Fort

A Fun Free Event For The Entire Family! Experience Mountain Men and Women trappers and traders demonstrating and selling their wares including trade silver, moccasins, beaver skin hats, and buckskin period dress. Discover life in the 1830s with demonstrations such as brain-tanning, primitive fire-making, rope making, blacksmithing, scrimshaw, and historic fur trade music.

FARMCAD: A Summer, Art, Craft and Food Market at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design

Let’s Play with Hervé Tullet! at the Denver Public Library

Author and artist Hervé Tullet, known for his wildly popular books, «Press Here!, „Mix it Up!, and “Let’s Play,» will read and lead a large-scale, collaborative art workshop for kids and families. Tattered Cover Bookstore will have books on hand to buy and have signed by the author. All ages welcome. Dress to get messy!

Ruler of the Railzz at Redstone Skate Park

Skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders of all skill levels are invited to compete in the annual Ruler of the Railzz competition on Sept. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. The contest, open to all ages and abilities, will be held at Redstone Skate Park, 3280 Redstone Park Circle.

Family Fun Night: Campfire Tales at Denver Botanic Gardens 
Sep 17,  5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Gather around the campfire as we celebrate the end of summer. Make s’mores, investigate signs of fall throughout the Children’s Garden and plant a house plant to take home with you. Special guest storyteller Cliff Davidson will join us and share family-friendly stories.
