What’s on your kids’ Walmart Wish List this Christmas? Win a $50 Gift Card!
**CONTEST CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO WINNER ANGELA WILSON!**
Alright, friends. It’s almost The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and if you’re like me, you have already started your shopping.
When my kids were younger, I could snag pretty much any toy and they’d be happy. Now that my daughter is entering the tween years, I have to be more strategic with my purchases.
That’s a nice way of saying she’s really picky.
Walmart has listed the hottest toys for 2012 on their website and divided them into four categories: Baby, Preschool & Toddler, Ages 5-7 and Ages 8-11. From FURBY and the Leapfrog LeapPad 2 to Power Wheels Dune Racer Ride-On and the Monster High High School Playset, this is a great place to get started.
Son’s wish list
My little dude loves his Wii and the top of his wish list this year is the NEW Wii U (which will be flying off the shelves starting November 18, 2012) and new Super Mario Bros. 2 (sensing a theme here?) He also loves Hot Wheels and has his eye on the Wall Tracks Power Tower ($39.88) and anything with LEGOs.
Daughter’s wish list
My daughter does not play the Wii except for one exception: Just Dance. The new Just Dance 4 ($39.96) is on her wish list and as a bonus, it saves me on dance lessons for her (my hope is she’ll be far more coordinated than I ever was). LEGO Games–Creationary ($34.97) combines her love of board games and LEGOs. She’s not yet into pop culture (no complaints here) and has never liked dolls so I think my little Tom Boy would also love the D&L Company Stomp Rocket for $19.46. Last summer at the beach, she spent hours launching a friend’s rocket.
All toys priced $15 or more are available through Walmart’s layaway program. If a customer puts a toy on layaway and Walmart rolls back the price later in the season, Walmart will honor the rolled-back price if it is in effect at the time of final payment.
Walmart and Walmart.com will offer thousands of toys from top brands throughout the toy department in stores and online at low prices all season long. Walmart has also kicked off “Toyland Tuesday” savings with new rollbacks on toys every Tuesday through Christmas. Also, Walmart’s 2012 Toyland Wish List Book features more than 450 of the season’s most in-demand toys at low prices with 200 toys under $30.
