Events: Rocky Mountain PBS Kids Fun Fest, Wildlife Experience’s 10th Anniversary Party

Wildlife Experience 10th Anniversary Party. On Saturday, September 8 be sure to hike, climb or wade to The Wildlife Experience for an outdoor adventure sampler platter of hands-on experiences including zip line, bungee, rock wall, archery, air rifles, archery and much more! The Wildlife Experience is hosting a community-wide adventure carnival to honor their new mission and our 10-Year Anniversary. Admission is just $1 and the chance to test your skills at a variety of family-friendly outdoor adventure activities located throughout the museum grounds. Younger guests can even meet Diego from Nick Jr.’s popular show Go, Diego, Go! (11 a.m. – 1p.m.) enjoy spin art, elephant bounce house, wild temporary tattoos and more. Don’t miss the delicious carnival-themed fare including kettle corn and BBQ or take in a wildlife film in the 3D Extreme Screen Theater. Times: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. thewildlifeexperience.org


16th annual Rocky Mountain PBS KIDS Fun Fest
. Rocky Mountain PBS is gearing up for a fantastic FREE block party for families. It’s all happening at the Rocky Mountain PBS studios in downtown Denver from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Ideal for kids preschool age through sixth grade, they can hang out with Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Princess Presto from “Super Why!.” There will be stage performances by Ballet Nouveau Colorado and Play-Ground Theatre, games, healthy refreshments and exciting exhibits from places like the Children’s Museum and Boondocks. The Great Erie Outdoor Adventure. This is the third year of The Great Erie Outdoor Adventure on September 8 and 9, 2012. This family-oriented and nature-based event is where participants enjoy overnight camping in the Erie Community Park plus other activities such as a climbing wall, kayak tanks, mountain bike course/demo and a variety of environmental education vendors. Adventures Denver. On September 9, join REI, The North Face and Backpacker Magazine fro the 1st annual Adventures Denver, a day of outdoor adventure in Sloans Lake Park. Events will include a kid’s zone, stand-up paddling, climbing, health and fitness classes, demonstrations, live music, giveaways and dozens of exhibitors. Denver Art Museum’s Create Playdate. Drop in on the second Wednesday of the month (September 12) with your little ones, ages 3 to 5, and meet up with other tots and their grown-ups for art-making, story time, and activities in the galleries. The Wacky W bike ride on Sunday, September 9th is a no-brainer way to raise money for Douglas County Schools, burn some calories and enjoy a gorgeous September day in Colorado. With four routes to choose from, there’s a ride for everyone in the family and a portion of every registration goes to the Douglas County School PTO of your choice. The post ride Food & Fun Zone will fill your belly and keep you busy with merchants, massages and free samples. The ride starts and ends in Highlands Ranch and (depending on the course length) takes riders through Parker, Castle Rock and Sedalia. Jerseys are included for 32, 45 and 62 mile riders.
