The exhibit displays more than 60 live animals from around the world, including geckos, Gila monsters and a giant Burmese python. Set your alarm: The public’s invited to watch the balloons inflate, starting at 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Bald Eagle Lake. Once they’re sky-worthy, the balloons will take off to compete in a series of games, like dipping their baskets into the lake. Afterward, mosey over to West Lincoln Park for Steamboat’s Art in the Park celebration, a gathering of artists and vendors with live entertainment and activities for kids. Bonus: The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo—on the ground, with livestock and horses—continues tonight and Saturday on Howelsen Hill. Balloon Rodeo: 6 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
