May Family Volunteer Project: Spring Celebration for Seniors

Want to teach your kids the importance of service?

Volunteers of America’s May family volunteer project will be held at Sunset Park Senior Center. Sunset Park Apartments is a 238 unit affordable housing apartment complex for seniors aged 62 years and over. Volunteers will be hosting a brunch, a Bingo event and planting flowers around the building. Most importantly, volunteers will be visiting with the seniors and making their day extra special.

When: Saturday, May 12th, 2012, 10:00am – Noon

Where: Sunset Park Senior Center, 1865 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80202

Who: You and your family…children of all ages are welcome!

What: Family volunteers will be bringing in brunch items (already cooked and prepared) and flowers to plant. Each family will be assigned a certain 6-pack color of petunias to bring after their RSVP is recieved. Age appropriate activities include a Bingo event, spring craft projects, serving brunch, and flower planting. Family volunteers will be visiting with the senior citizen residents of Sunset Park and brightening their day!
