Denver Deal: Consignment Sales, Summer Movie Fun, 9Health Fair & more
Ohhh YEAH. TCBY is now offering Greek Frozen Yogurt. I have always been a fan of Greek yogurt – and so has my daughter. She loves to make her own shakes at home using fruit and Greek yogurt. But now…the world is a better place! We tried the Greek Frozen Yogurt (Honey Vanilla) along with some healthy toppings like granola, fruit and nuts. I told the kids that they could have whatever they wanted (along with whatever toppings – and they have a TON to choose from) but, they had to TRY the Greek first. Both kids LOVED it and choose it on their own. I was told that more than 20% of all yogurt sales are specifically Greek yogurt – packed with protein. So me being the semi-healthy mom that I am and wanting to jump on the popularity band-wagon, I can sleep better at night knowing they are eating dessert that really is sort of healthy for them.
9 Health Fair
9Health Fair has over 20 free screenings from which to choose, and a number of low-cost screenings. The Fairs are held until mid-May at several different locations across the state. Find a location near you. Not only does the fair offer screenings but also education on some of today’s most pressing health concerns and issues.
Admission to the national parks is free during National Park Week, starting Saturday and running through April 29. That means all 397 parks in the system will let you just roll right on in, without having to sit in one of those long lines wondering what in the heck the car in front of you could possibly be doing next to the ranger window for 15 minutes.
Visit nps.gov for info on the park nearest you or tips on planning a trip. There’s no question that the free week — as well as the free weekends spread throughout the year — is among the busiest, so it’s wise to have some idea of what you want to do.
April 22nd is Earth Day AND means that there are a couple free days! Both the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Denver Botanic Gardens (Denver location) are giving free entry. Butterfly Pavillion is just $5 on April 21 (2 and under are FREE).
