Denver Deal: Easter Happenings, Walk with Surgeon General and more

My friend and I were shopping for Easter dresses for our daughters this last week when a thought occurred to me. Why do they make such cute dresses but then forget what those of us who live in Colorado know – that the weather swings wildly requiring a shrug or sweater? I don’t believe we were we the only two people who had difficulty searching the store for a sweater that a. matched the dress and b. was not sewn in/on to another dress.

Walk with the Surgeon General

Wednesday, April 4, join the Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, MD, MBA, for a one-mile walk celebrating National Public Health Week. The walk will begin at the Colorado Center for Health and Wellness (University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, 12348 E Montview Boulevard
Aurora, CO 80045) beginning at 10 a.m.  Following the walk, there will be a panel discussion on the economic impact of health and wellness and the importance of continually exploring new and innovative strategies to improve health, prevent disease and reduce healthcare costs.
Easter Events

There was a card that my sister and I read several years ago, but the saying sticks with us now…”Happy Easter, happy spring, happy happy everything.” Indeed Easter and springtime are pretty awesome (what other season can you wear your ENTIRE wardrobe in one day?!?!?)  There are many Easter egg hunts, bunny trails and other fun that are FREE – and I must say again, I love the word FREE! Some events include:

*FREE Bunny Trail EggVenture at the Children’s Museum on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

*Bass Pro Shop crafts and egg hunt on Saturday and Sunday.

*Heritage Square Easter Festival is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

*Wash Park Easter egg hunt.

*Spring EGGstravaganza at the Wildlife Experience on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
