Colorado Family Ski Deals: Echo Mountain, Breckenridge, and Devil’s Thumb Ranch

Hey Lady, I don’t know who you are but I must say I am REALLY glad I met you! I was at the Ski and Snowboard Expo this last weekend and was so excited to meet another 40 year old who said she just learned how to ski this last year too!  I thought I was the last mom on earth that just learned a snow sport. Last year, I tried to teach myself to snowboard using YouTube videos (I don’t recommend it) and despite the difficulties of those videos, I found a LOVE for a new sport that I can share with my kids!

Colorado Ski Country 5th and 6th Grade Passport

There is still time to take advantage of the 5th and 6th Grade Passport program. Colorado Ski Country USA believes every child who lives in Colorado should have the opportunity to learn how to ski or snowboard. The 5th Grade Passport is FREE! It includes 3 days of skiing/boarding at each of the 21 member resorts. The 6th Grade Passport is just $99 (they get an extra day at each resort)!
Meet an Olympian!
Meet Gold and Silver Olympic medalist, Julia Mancuso on Monday November 14, 2011 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Colorado Ski & Golf store in Aurora (2650 S Havana, Aurora).  Julia started a trend in my house where my daughter has to find her tiara before heading up the hill.  More than the tiaras though, Mancuso claims 13 Wold Cup victories last season and three Olympic medals (Go Girl Power – with the most ever for a female!) She will sign posters and greet fans. There will also be great giveaways!

Echo Mountain

Echo Mountain is the closest ski area to Denver at only 35 minute drive. Plus, they have night skiing. Kids under 5 ski for FREE. And for parents probably one of the BEST deals I’ve seen in a while, the fully transferable (which I learned means that you can use them all yourself or give them to friends, neighbors, etc to all go on the same day or different days) FOUR-PACK for only $119!

Copper Mountain Kids Night Out

Copper Mountain Chamber of Commerce, Kids’ Night Out is a FREE childcare service offered to parents on the condition that $30 per child is spent in any commercial outlet at the resort during the hours that your children are in the program. We do require original receipts to verify the expenditure. If less than $30 per child is spent, parents will be charged the difference. Wednesday-Saturday’s @ 5:30pm-10pm starting November 20, 2011 kids age 8 weeks to 12 years old will participate in activities including crafts, movies, games, and interactive Wii. They will also get pizza and a beverage. For further information or to make an advanced reservation, call 970-968-2318 ext. 38101
