Denver Deal: Denver Arts Festival, Boulder Creek Festival & BigPapa’s BBQ

Ahh the joys of summer.  Memorial Day gives us all kinds of things to do and fun to be had.  What is your plans? I am super excited about planning to check something off my personal “bucket list” with a trip to Zip Adventures in Vail on June 5.  Plus, kids that are 60 pounds or more get to zip too!  My daughter is delighted to get to do it!  As for this weekend – I’m excited to have a full three day weekend!  There are a ton of fun (and inexpensive or free) things to do in Denver.  The Rockies play the St. Louis Cardinals – you can always get inexpensive seats (especially with the rock pile) and enjoy a day at the park.  Consider visiting the Downtown Denver Arts Festival at the Denver Pavilions or the Denver Day of Rock. Denver Day of Rock is a one-of-a-kind music event presented by Concerts For Kids to raise awareness of the children in our community. This free event will feature five stages of live music throughout downtown Denver on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

Boulder Creek Festival

The Boulder Creek Festival is the quintessential event in Boulder County! For nearly a quarter century, the Boulder Creek Festival has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. Widely considered Boulder County’s favorite event, the Boulder Creek Festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community.  This year KASHI also brings the Real Tour (Renew Eating And Living) to the event as well!

Clos du Bois and WomenHeart (the National Coalition for Women With Heart Disease), have teamed up to create a site that hosts FREE e-cards! For each card you send, $1 goes to the charity, and if you make the glasses “clink” an additional dollar will be donated.  Plus, you are invited to attend complimentary red wine tastings where you can learn about heart health and heart disease prevention.  The first is this Thursday (5/26) at The Palm Steakhouse (downtown).  The wine tasting starts at 5:00 p.m. and the seminar begins at 5:30 p.m. The second is Wednesday, June 8 at Second Home (in JW Marriott in Cherry Creek) starting at 6:00 p.m.
