Denver Deal: Georgetown, Tuba Christmas, and more!
There are so many things to do this time of year that are so much fun and most of them don’t cost anything (or much). (Plus, I have to sneak in a Happy Birthday to my son Dalton who will be 11 on the 11th! – so, I have birthday plans this weekend!)
Ice Skating
The Rink at Skyline park is FREE (Skate rental is available at a minimal cost). Belmar (in Lakewood) offers Date & Skate night on Tuesdays through the month, pick up your coupon at the Belmar information center which entitles you to two-for-one skating and dining at participating restaurants.
Georgetown Christmas Market
Celebrate 50 years of an Old World Christmas in quaint Georgetown. The marvelous outdoor European-inspired Market features handcrafted gifts, horse-drawn wagon rides, carolers, roasted chestnuts, appearances by St. Nicholas in his traditional robes, and the Santa Lucia Children’s Procession.
Les Deux Rousses
Marta Burton and Marnie Ward, who both just happen to belt a tune like nobody’s business, are teaming up for a concert at the Denver Public Library’s central branch that will warm anyone up whatever the weather. Sampling a wide-range of musical styles and origins (from standards to Celtic), on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This performance will include lovely duets and special solo numbers from each of these unique performers.
TubaChristmas
Hundreds of tuba players play holiday classics at the annual TubaChristmas Concert in Skyline Park (Arapahoe and 16th) on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m.

The ginormous building that is the Lifetime Fitness in Centennial (off Dry Creek & Colorado) will host a VIP night on Thursday, December 9. The behemoth of a building includes a climing wall, indoor/outdoor pools, and more. But what is cooler – is that there are great fitness programs for kids! I am told there will be programs from soccer, cheerleading, basketball and more!

Keep your eyes peeled for the coupons in the mail! I received a flyer for JC Penney that I almost threw away. It was get $10 off when you make a purchase of $10 or more. So yes, I got something that was $10 for just the 67 cents it cost me for tax! Make sure you read the details on the coupons you get in the mail!
