Mama’s Night Out with Water2Wine and the Red Cross (Plus a Discount)

Mama’s Night Out with Water2Wine and the Red Cross (Plus a Discount)

On Thursday, Mile High Mamas congregated at Water2Wine–”The Ultimate Wine Experience.”

Not familiar with the concept? Think “Build-a-Bear” for grown-ups. But without the stuffing.

Located in Centennial, this winery is an actual wine-making operation. The process is simple: choose your grapes (brought in from the finest vineyards from all over the world), process them, let them age and then come back 45 days later to bottle up your wine and make your own personalized label.

Or, if you’re like the Mamas, just have an evening tasting all the various wines (or water for those of us who don’t drink) and socializing.

In keeping with past events, the Mamas know how to have a great time. When you’re talking fermentation, it opens up a can of worms for discussion topics. including the sordid details of lice and television medical dramas like Melissa’s comment:

“I could totally do a tracheotomy just from watching ‘House.’”

Enlightening to say the least. And yes, alcohol may have been involved.

Mile High Mamas partnered with charity-driven Mom It Forward and the Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross was invited to speak to us. We learned about the importance of life-saving infant and child CPR and they offered two giveaways: a Family First Aid Kit and another for a CPR Class.

Other giveaways for the evening including four tickets to the AMA ArenaCross Series (March 26-28) and Sesame Street Live: 1-2-3… Imagine! with Elmo & Friends (April 8-11).

Water2Wine partnered with neighboring Pump It Up to provide supervised playtime for children while their moms socialized.

The Red Cross would like to offer a 15% discount code to become certified in CPR and First Aid. Class registration fees also cover costs for instructors and materials remaining funds are reinvested into the community in the form of Red Cross disaster relief: Colorado Red Cross chapters respond to a disaster every 21 hours—usually a house fire—with emergency aid, food, shelter, clothing, mental health services and transitional support to victims of every kind of disaster. Enter the code BLOGGER when you register on their site http://www.denver-redcross.org/.

============================

A special thanks to everyone in attendance and to Water2Wine. If you are a local business and would like to host one of our gatherings, please contact me. We are not an exclusive group. If you are a Colorado mom interested in social media, be sure to get on our invitation list. Our next events will be a casual mid-day meet-up in April at Einstein Bros. Bagels (date TBD) and a bubble extravaganza at the Denver Children’s Museum’s new exhibit on May 19.
