Rockies Win The World Series: McDad Guarantee

posted by:

(Editor’s Note: We are proud to announce that our very own Mitch McDad received a very generous mention in Time magazine. Hats off to him and all the great daddy bloggers out there!)

Here are the reasons the Rockies will win.

All the pundits are picking the Red Sox except for those that are natural contrarians. When there is a strong consensus in anything, look for the opposite result.

Man-Ram (Manny Ramirez) will trip over his hair on the base paths at a critical juncture in the series.

The Rockies had no business being in the playoffs. Forget the near unprecedented run they are on, the Brewers saved the Rockies asses twice just to get to the one game playoff with San Diego and then the Rockies entered the bottom of the 13th with a two run deficit and won. The whole scenario makes for a bad movie of the week it’s so unlikely.

Matt Holiday is like a hairless pit bull. That’s got to be a good thing.

The Red Sox are a better team. The American League is head and shoulders better than the pathetic National League. Josh Beckett is Superman in the World Series and Playoffs and should neutralize Jeff Francis. Most of the Rockies players hit about 50 points worse on the road than at home and the Sox have home field advantage. The Red Sox have refined the word clutch with their 3-1 comeback vs. Cleveland and their 3-0 comeback vs. NY in 2004. The Rockies have been idle so long the seasons have changed. EVERYTHING points to the BoSox taking this thing in as few as five games. That is why I’m guaranteeing the ROCKIES win, and I think they are going to beat Beckett tonight which will have everyone at ESPN flipping their positions faster than Hillary.

Other Rockies advantages:

Clint Hurdle is a cool customer and has kept his team loose.

Todd Helton is one of those destined players to get a ring.

Tulo will have a strong series after a mediocre NLCS.

I hate Boston.

Man-Ram doesn’t even care, though he will have a big series.

The altitude will mess with the Red Sox equilibrium.

And most importantly, because McDad said so!

Rockies win. If I have to pick the number of games, I say 5, but don’t hold me to it.

OK folks. Last night seems like a set back for us, but have no fear. The guarantee is still in place. Remember, I didn’t guarantee 5 games, just a Rockies win. The early blow out is another perfect indicator for that team to lose. We’ve got them right where we want them.

And Amber, thanks for the love, though I think adding the Mitch promo to the post makes me look a little narcissistic (which, of course, we all know I am.)

Obviously this was queued to run before last night’s massacre. However, we cannot lose faith. Are they not called The Comeback Kids? OK, maybe they’re just the Rockies but there is hope!

Don’t give up hope Mitch and Rockies fans! According to the computer last night’s loss was all part of the plan…

    We must not lose hope!

Yeah…it’s not looking too good right now. Their uniforms say “Rockies,” their playing says “Cubs.”

See the comment on my blog for the more explicit berating our the home town boys.

But before we despair too much, there is a definite ray of hope. I had sex during the 8th inning. Regular readers of my blog know this is no small feat. And if I can get a little action during a baseball game, the Rockies can still win this thing. And they will.

Our boys look like… well, boys out there. The Sox look like middle-aged thugs. And by middle-aged I mean experienced and confident. They have been here before.

I told you not to post this garbage. What a feeble effort the Rockies have displayed.

I’m not disappointed in the losing, I’m disappointed in the deer-in-the-headlights showing. Oh well.
