The New Sea Monsters IMAX opens September 18th at the DMNS

A couple weeks ago, the three of us were invited to a special sneak preview of the newest IMAX adventure at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
Along with the invitation was the warning: “this film merits a PG rating for some intense wildlife images, including scenes of simulated predation.”
So, of course, we decided [...]

It’s better to be safe (and appear crazy) than sorry…

Do you believe in Instinct? Do you believe in the validity behind that funny feeling you get in your stomach when you just know something isn’t right? Do you act on it, or do you convince yourself that you’re being crazy?
It doesn’t make rational sense. It isn’t logical. You’re probably just [...]

Princess Pettiskirt Review

Claire is an expert in all things Princess. I didn’t really mean for this to happen. No, really…I didn’t! She got some Princess Paraphernalia from some well-meaning relatives when she was but a wee lass, and the rest is history…
…or, our princess-filled present, as the case may be.
You can’t shake a beautiful [...]

We have been taking our 3-year old, Claire, to restaurants for years now. We have our routine down, and we’ve adjusted it for her age. Now that she’s getting to be a little more independent, she likes to order for herself off the menu. This is extremely helpful when places have a [...]

Do I sound like a broken record?

Hardly a day goes by when I’m not explaining something to someone, and usually, that someone is a three-year old. We talk about language and words and why things are said the way they’re said. Lately, she’s been asking about why we say certain phrases, and it hit me. A lot of [...]

A camping essential

With summer winding down, we’re trying to take advantage of the wonderful camping Colorado has to offer.  A couple of weekends ago, we went on an overnight camping trip. How did it go? Well, the short and sweet answer: Awesome!
But…
You’ll probably wonder what’s wrong with me after you read the long answer…

Say it to my face…book?

I consider myself to be rather in-touch with what’s going on around me. I have over 400 “friends” on my personal Facebook Account. I have a bunch of people that I email, instant message/chat, text, or call on a regular basis. I try to stay on top of what’s going on with [...]
