Event Round-up: Butterfly Pavilion’s New Exhibit, the Art of Love & More!
Through August. Escape the cold and snow with “Tropical Odyssey,” returning to the Butterfly Pavilion after an update. The bilingual exhibit follows the life cycle of a butterfly in a tropical rainforest, using games and interactive elements to tell the story. New this time around is a play area with giant caterpillars and butterflies for kids to climb on, plus a cool zip-line for pretending to be a butterfly. To celebrate the exhibit’s reopening, the Pavilion offers special discounted admission this Saturday only: $5 per person. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Butterfly Pavilion, 6252 W. 104th Ave., Westminster; 303-469-5441. Regular admission is $8.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors age 62 and older, $5.50 for kids ages 2 to 12. Saturday. The Denver Art Museum will be swooning when the “Art of Love” takes over the museum. A collaboration with Opera Colorado, the event showcases love in all its forms—unrequited, requited and otherwise—throughout the DAM’s collection. Activities will spring up everywhere, including special tours and “detours” led by opera, not art, experts. Expect to learn a lot about Opera Colorado’s latest production: Dvorak’s “Rusalka,” a tragic fairytale of love. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy.; 720-865-5000. Museum admission is $10 for Colorado resident adults, $8 for seniors and students, $3 for youth ages 6 to 18. (Add $2-$3 for nonresidents.) For more information, visit denverartmuseum.org

Guest artists Linda Weise, soprano, and Lucas Goodrich, tenor, will add their voices to the soaring strings. 8 p.m. Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, 190 S. Cascade Ave.; 719-520-SHOW. Tickets are $18-$60 for Saturday’s performance, $18-$57 for Sunday. Discounts are available at the box office for seniors, active duty military and students.
