Winter Trails Day and Kids Ski Free Day!

Happy Trails indeed!  This weekend (Jan 8 & 9) Devil’s Thumb Ranch’s Kids Ski & Learn Free package (available for children 12 and under) includes a group lesson, equipment and trail pass for the tykes and a special add-on Spa option for Mom and or Dad to relieve some post-holiday stress.  Lessons are from 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon or 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Reservations are recommended.  970.726.8231. 

On Saturday, January 8, participating Nordic ski resorts and centers of the Colorado Cross Country Ski Association are celebrating Winter Trails Day, a national initiative offering kids and adults the chance to try skiing and snowshoeing for FREE.

On Sunday January 9th, CCCSA member centers across Colorado are hosting Kids Ski Free Day, giving FREE lessons, equipment, and passes to kids 12 and under to encourage childhood fitness. (Reservations strongly recommended; call centers to confirm participation and reserve.)

Friday, January 7 is a FREE Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield (8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road) and Saturday, January 8 is a FREE Day at the Denver Zoo.

Ski Free with the Mammoth

Modmarket, a restaurant company that serves fast foods that are good for you, is opening its second location at 1000 South Colorado Boulevard in Denver next week. They will be offering free food days for their soft opening on Monday 1/10 from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday 1/11 from noon-8 p.m. with a donation. 100% of the donations will go back to LiveWell Colorado, a nonprofit organization committed to reducing obesity in Colorado by promoting healthy eating.
