Colorado is among the first set of 10 states to receive some flexibility from the requirements of No Child Left Behind, White House officials confirmed to The Denver Post this morning.
Colorado applied for the waiver last year, saying in the application they can better handle holding schools accountable from a state level.

Cutest Kid Photo Contest for December: AMAZING PRIZE TO SKI AND STAY AT KEYSTONE!

Do you have a cute kid?  Well, if you have a kid then of course you do.  Every mom thinks her kid is the cutest on the planet.  That’s the way it should be of course.

The good news is now your cute kid has the chance to win your family four lift tickets and a one night stay in a 2 bedroom condo in Keystone.  Can I get a WOOT WOOT!!  All you have to do to enter is submit a picture of your adorable little one doing anything this holiday season.  It is that easy!  You can even submit more than one photo if you like.  I mean some of us have more than just one of the cutest kids in the world:)

This giveaway is good starting anytime February 18th through the end of the season April 12th.  Keystone has so many wonderful activities this time of the year just perfect for families.  Keystone has Kidtopia festivities going on throughout the season that include  Glow Bug Skate Night,   NASTAR Family Racing and of course Santa and his Reindeer.  The first one starts this next week to celebrate Christmas.   The main event you won’t want to miss this upcoming KEY6106_Leisa Gibsonyear is The Keystone Kidtopia Festival, February 19th-21st 2010.    This festival is designed  with your wonderful cute kids in mind.  Explore the ultimate Snow Fort at the top of Dercum Mountain, dance to live music in the plaza, ski down the mountain in a glowstick parade, make arts and crafts, go disco tubing and much more.  There will be events taking place on and off the mountain, so there is something for everyone.
