Colorado is among the first set of 10 states to receive some flexibility from the requirements of No Child Left Behind, White House officials confirmed to The Denver Post this morning.
Colorado applied for the waiver last year, saying in the application they can better handle holding schools accountable from a state level.

Have you been trying to find the time to holiday shop?  How about wrapping all those gifts with the kids around?  Well, I have found the perfect solution.  If you want  to get the kids and the hubby out of the house and give yourself a chance to play Santa’s elf,  then here is what you do.  Send them to an Avalanche game!   What husband is going to turn down a fun night with the kids and the Avalanche? 

Here’s another scenario, maybe you need a break from all the holiday rush.   How nice would it be to have a fun, relaxing evening out with the family.  What could be better than nachos, cotton candy and a Pepsi as you watch one of three upcoming Avalanche games?  Well, the Mile High Mamas are going to help send two of you to do just that this Friday. 

The Avalanche have several games coming up this week, starting with tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild at 7pm.  On Friday, the Avs are ready to take the ice again against the Tampa Bay Lightning  at 7pm.  If neither of those work for you, then you have one last chance this week on Sunday the 13th at 6pm against the Calgary Flames.
