Product Review: BornFit Women’s Activewear – The Elyse Jacket

I recently had a chance** to try out the BornFit Fitness Elyse Jacket.

Details from their product page: This brand new BornFit women’s fitness jacket is cute enough to wear out shopping, but functional for your workout with moisture wicking, super soft, brushed polyester/spandex! This wrinkle resistant workout jacket is great for the woman on the go – it is a perfect jacket to wear while traveling. Comfy and versatile, this jacket welcomes cooler weather. Collar can be worn up or down, two hand pockets on each side and asymmetrical zipper – this women’s fitness jacket is one of a kind!  Price: $88

BornFit is “Apparel to Fit Your Active Mom Life,” and they carry maternity AND non-maternity items. I fall into that latter category. Almost all of the fitness activities I do are indoor and do not require winter active wear, but I’ve been looking for a nice coat to use when I’m running around. (Not literally running, mind you…the “running” I do is to the store, school, ballet, and playgroup outings.)

Regardless of where I run and how fast, I love this jacket! It’s light, but warm. It’s not bulky, and it’s so soft! It was so comfortable that I actually forgot I had it on, on more than one occasion. I love the detailing on the sleeve. The embroidery gives the jacket a fun, stylish flare. I love that there are two sets of pockets. There is one set of zippered pockets, perfect for keys, wallet, or a cell phone, BlackBerry, or iPhone, and there is a non-zippered pocket on top of those, so that there is space to keep your hands warm without losing any contents of the zippered pockets.

The jacket has an off-center zipper on the front, which gives the coat a unique look. I must admit, though, it took me a while to get the hang of fastening it. I loved the look of it, but getting my brain re-trained to zip an off-center zipper was pretty comical. It only took a couple of tries, and I was back on par with the other preschoolers learning to zip their jackets, with no one being the wiser.

So many people commented on this coat and wanted to know where I’d gotten it.  It’s sure to be a popular piece in your wardrobe, too.  So, if you’re looking for a stylish, fun, comfy coat for running. . .around town or otherwise. . .you should check out The Elyse Jacket by BornFit.

**I was not monetarily compensated for this review. I was given the jacket in exchange for an honest review.
