Magic Lantern..Lighting the Path to Literacy!

I have been working with a great lady that creates wonderful writing products for our children.   The name of her company is Magic Lantern.  These products are geared towards helping our kiddos get excited about literacy.  As we know, it can be hard to find products that excite kids about reading and learning in general.  The books that I received to review are geared for kids of all ages.   My favorite two were the ones my son was old enough to enjoy.

The  books my son reviewed were called “A Book of Shapes” and “A Book of Colors”.  These were perfect for my little boy who is really into both of these things right now.  The books are made with pre printed pages that encourage your child to take pictures or cut out pictures of different shapes or colors.  It is a fun way to teach while playing at the same time.  What young child wouldn’t enjoy a treasure hunt for different shapes or colors.  We used the camera and magazines to find things to fill up our books.  They are made with quality in mind so they are made to last.  Magic Lantern thought of everything.  They even included the colored pencils for the “A Book of Colors”  book.  My son and I will be able to keep this book for years to come and remember the fun we had making it.

The Magic Lantern has all types of books for your child to enjoy.  They have themed journals for taking to the zoo, the Nature and Science Museum, your backyard or even one to remind you “Why should you care”.   They also have journals for just writing your thoughts and dreams.  I love to journal.  I believe it creates a great way to release your thoughts and use your imagination.  Another great product that helps with your child’s imagination is the Kidz Story Kit.  It comes with everything your child will need to create their own story.  Once they have it completed, it can be sent back to Magic Lantern to be bound just like a real book.  Your child will feel such a sense of accomplishment to see their creation in book form.

If you are looking for a unique way to encourage reading and writing, this is it.  Take a look at Magic Lantern’s site and see what all they have to offer.  This line of products would make for a great stocking stuffer!
