In this series of blogs, the “Kid Blenders,” I will be addressing our challenges, trying to blend our two families together. The names of the children will be changed to spare the easily embarrassed. And let me be upfront about this: I’m no clinical expert. I’m just a single mom trying to figure life out as I go. But knowing that there are around 14 million single parents out there…I’m guessing that I’m not alone in this venture.

Daily Deal-Thrifty Thursday

Every fall my mother-in-law has been bringing me bittersweet.  I love bittersweet!

We moved to Denver in April and guess what came with us in a black garbage bag?  That’s right!  My bittersweet!

Last weekend my husband was building some more shelves in the basement(such a handyman!) for our storage.  He threatened to throw out that black bag.  So I hauled it upstairs.

Earlier this week you may have read the post about fall decorations.  Here are some more ideas for fall.  I had fun decorating our house with the bittersweet.  It’s hard to work with because it entangles in itself, but definately worth the hassle.

I just recently read an article about dressing up a mirror.  Take your favorite fall wreath and hang it on a large mirror.  I completely changes the look of the mirror!

There are a lot of things you can do with in your home to decorate for free or cheap!  Another favorite of mine is using fresh fruit in my decorative bowls in my kitchen.  It adds warmth and is a great reminder to eat the fruit instead of that bowl of Halloween candy!

What ways do you decorate inexpensively for fall?
