The Merck Manual Home Health Handbook iPhone, iPod Touch App

Have you ever had one of those situations as a mom when your child is stung by a bee at the park and you do not know what the heck to do? Well, great news, help is on your iPhone!  Merck & Co., Inc. has developed a new iPhone® application (app) The Merck Manual – Home Edition, written by more than 300 key worldwide medical experts. The new iPhone application has been released at the same time as its new medical book, The Merck Manual Home Health Handbook. The Home Edition available as an app for moms on the go—whether they are at a soccer game, on a family vacation, or getting ready to take a child to see the doctor.  Many moms keep The Home Edition book on their kitchen bookshelf where it’s easily accessible. Now moms can take The Home Edition app with them wherever they go.

Merck and Co., has offered me a chance to try the Merck Manual Home Health Handbook iPhone app. Wow, I have to say the app is very impressive, it covers every possible medical topic I can think of.  There is even a section on Children’s Health Issues. This app gives me a sense of security know that I have easily accessible emergency medical information right in my purse or diaper bag.

The new app, developed in collaboration with Agile Partners, is designed specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch and contains the same material as The Merck Manual Home Health Handbook.  It brings consumers added convenience in accessing key information wherever they are.  Featuring an easy-to-use interface, the app enables users to quickly find information, share topics via e-mail and bookmark favorite subjects.

Check out this app, it just might help you save your child one day!
