Twitter has been a pleasant surprise for me. Several opportunities have been created for my blog and the business whom I tweet for. I love going on Twitter and learning about new websites and interesting conversations! Twitter is quick and to the point and FUN!

I’ve been on Twitter since March ’09 & though it took me awhile to get the hang of it, I’m now addicted. While many FaceBook is fun, it really isn’t great for conversation – too many lurkers. Twitter though, is all about joining in!

Kagey, a Twitter friend (@casualperfect) first alerted me to the Southwest bid for Frontier, which personally affects my family, through Twitter. I was then able to go to Twitter and get all the latest on it hours before it hit the TV or radio. While it was quite amazing to find out about MJ’s death the same way, there is more to Twitter than entertainment. There are serious Tweeters out there putting out all kinds of information on a range of topics. You pick what interests you. However, it can also be distracting if you let it be. You are in charge of how much you participate. Hope that helps!

I love Twitter so much I have to limit myself – it’s now an addiction. So many posts are things I want to read, and learn.

I’m @ImaginationSoup – for my parenting related tweets and @MelissaWrites for my writing related tweets.

I love saying tweets but I hate saying tweeple. Maybe it will grow on me.

I’m still dragging my feet on Twitter. I waste too much time everyday on things like FB, so I’ve been trying to figure out why tweeting is worth my time? This post makes it sound tempting.

I guess part of the appeal is the mobility? I don’t have to be online to “follow” these folks. Those of you who tweet – do you ever find yourself too distracted by multitasking when you’re trying to get other things done? Other than the cookie dough recall, can you cite other times Tweet was more than entertainment?

Just Curious! Build the case that I should hope on the bandwagon!

These are terrific reasons, and I second each of them.

I’ve been on since BlogHer08, just over a year. I used to read each and every tweet in my stream, but now, I follow way too many people to do so. I use TweetDeck to manage now.

The best advice you have is to follow only people who are likely to interest you.

Wow, what an inspiring post about…Twitter? Funny how it’s grown. I’m continually annoyed by the spammers but the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. I, too held on on becoming a part of it but really delved in last fall and love it.

I’ve been a part of Twitter since February 2009, so I’m a relative-newbie.

I joined Twitter kicking and screaming, and it took a while for me to really “get it.” But, once I did, I wondered what took me so long! In fact, the other day I was just thinking to myself how much I’ve learned by being on it! There is this whole other world that exists, and it’s exciting to be a part of it.
