Product Review: CLIF Kid Organic Twisted Fruit and ZBaRs

My children’s snacking habits have been less-than-stellar this summer and they have been eating granola bars like they’re going out of style. I realize it could be worse but with the high sugar content, it could be a lot better.

Enter “The Better”: CLIF Kid Organic Twisted Fruit and Organic ABaRs.

I was shipped some samples of these bars and fruit snacks a few months ago. Nationwide, Organic ZBaR is the No. 1 selling kid’s snack bar and are made from all natural ingredients including rolled oats, blueberry and apple chunks, chocolate chips and more. Organic Twisted Fruit comes in a cool, easy-to-eat rope shape and is the equivalent of one whole serving of fruit.

The pros: There are no processed sugars or corn syrup added to each snack and they include a great blend of protein, carbohydrates that work together to balance energy levels.

The cons: While my 5-year-old daughter couldn’t get enough of the chocolate-flavored snack bars, she did not care for the fruit flavors.

However, my son loved everything he tried and I have replenished my supply from the store many times over. Bode’s especial favorite was the Organic Twisted Fruit, which he dubbed as “licorice.”

I won’t tell him if you don’t.
