If so, round ‘em up for this very cool contest. The Colorado Music Festival is giving away 15 passes for you and your friends to attend their Young People’s Concert on either June 27 or 29, 2009 at 10 a.m.
Not familiar with the Colorado Music Festival (CMF) 2009 Education & Outreach Program? Allow me to familiarize you. This great program is designed to connect kids from ages 3 to 18 to classical music. Concerts, workshops, and masterclasses will be held at Chautauqua in Boulder throughout the summer in conjunction with the Colorado Music Festival concert season from June 27—August 7, 2009.
This summer’s CMF programs for kids and families include:
Young People’s Concerts—for ages 3-7
CMF Young People’s Concerts introduce young children (ages 3-7) to the excitement of live classical music performances with programs that include costumed animals, narration and lively music. This all-new program teaches kids about the instruments in the orchestra as they are taken on an imaginary journey to different times and places. Each concert will be followed by a fun Music Fair on the Chautauqua grounds where kids can meet costumed animals and collect autographs; enjoy cookies, juice and milk; and much more.
Family Fun Concerts—for ages 4-8
CMF’s Family Fun Concerts features fun, informal 45-minute performances with CMF musicians who perform and demonstrate their instruments, and answer questions from curious kids. Held at Chautauqua Auditorium on three Fridays at 2 p.m., performances are narrated by CMF musicians themselves and are designed with a family audience in mind.
Classically Kids Workshops—for ages 7-11
Developed in collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts, Classically Kids is a series of participatory workshops designed to engage kids (ages 7-11) in the excitement of classical music. Participants meet international guest artists, engage in hands-on activities and attend a corresponding Colorado Music Festival concert. All workshops will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Chautauqua Community House.
Masterclasses for Emerging Musicians—for ages 13-18
CMF is offering talented young musicians (ages 13-18) from throughout the region the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the Colorado Music Festival’s most accomplished professional players through our Masterclasses for Emerging Musicians. Masterclasses, which are free and open to the public for observation, will be held on four Mondays during the Festival from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Chautauqua Community House. Participants will be selected through an application process.
