BREAKING: Colorado among the states chosen to get out of No Child Left Behind rules

Colorado is among the first set of 10 states to receive some flexibility from the requirements of No Child Left Behind, White House officials confirmed to The Denver Post this morning.
Colorado applied for the waiver last year, saying in the application they can better handle holding schools accountable from a state level.

Just in case you have somehow missed the onslaught of rabbits and candy at the store, the Easter Bunny is coming to town this weekend! The following is a list of some Easter weekend highlights; check with your local chamber to see if there is an Easter egg hunt near you.

April 11, Arvada Kite Festival, Robby Ferrufino Park, 74th and Carr St

The Easter Bunny has to get around somehow and this Easter celebration is powered by a Georgetown Loop Railroad diesel locomotive. Families can go for a ride on the narrow gauge train, participate in egg hunts, take a picture with the Easter Bunny and much more.

April 11th, Fish N Farm Grand Opening and Easter Celebration, Heritage Square

If makes perfect sense that the Easter Bunny would swing by the zoo to hang out with his fellow animals. Mongoose, red river hogs, polar bears, arctic foxes, river otters, gorillas, and mandrills will enjoy colored, hard-boiled eggs. Watch as the animals forage for their food and crack the eggs open.
