Wrinkled (and other laundry pet peeves)

Do you remember this I love Laundry? Well then here goes:
I am here to talk about the ridiculous ones in my daughter’s sheets. The sheets on our bed are fine and wrinkle-free but they only make them in fancy, deep, boring old adult colors.
I have bought from Pottery Barn Kids, Land of Nod, Target, Wamsutta, Target, Linens and Things and probably more. I cannot seem to win.
Remove from dryer promptly – Yeah I can do that. I can even set the timer for 5 minutes at a time and keep checking the sheets to see if they are dry yet so I can be extra prompt. But whatever I do, I still get wrinkles. And not just any wrinkles – the kind that makes you wish you had a can of spray starch from 50’s (do they still sell that and how would it feel to sleep on starched pillow cases?)
All I have to say is all sheets should be WRINKLE-FREE straight from the dryer whether you take them out promptly or a week later when you remember they are there.
On this last trip to the dryer I actually took the time to iron the pillow cases (Who does that?). They were so wrinkled I knew I wouldn’t want to lay my head on them.
So…If you know a brand of plain, solid girly-colored sheets that you love that doesn’t break the bank, and comes out wrinkle-free every time please share. Please!
What is your biggest laundry pet peeve?
I have the same problem with the sheets on our bed. I even buy them at a very nice boutique linen shop. For me it is the edges of the pillow cases – looks like someone scrunched them up like a piece of paper you would throw away!

My laundry pet peeves are plentiful. Mostly even at the very moment I am doing the laundry, people are wearing clothes are dirtying some more.
Basically, it’s a no-win situation.
I don’t worry about wrinkled sheets, because right now it’s all about keeping them clean. My 3 yr old is very happy that she is wearing underwear to bed now; however, she’s only staying dry 1/3 the time. So, I’ve stopped caring about wrinkles. It’s more like, did I lose my mind, or did I change her sheets already today?
Are you buying 100% cotton? We don’t seem to have that problem so I’m wondering if ours have some good ole polyester in them?
Well, Terra this is a tough one. I wish nothing wrinkled (including my face)! I have turned to flannel sheets for the kids which are super cozy, and although they do wrinkle a bit seem to be less noticeable. I found these at Target, but honestly don’t know if they sold any in a solid.
Martha would be very proud to know that you are ironing your pillowcases though!
Laundry IS my pet peeve. I wish I could invent a way to never have to do laundry again! I think it’s called a laundry service – but I can’t afford to have all of my clothes sent out. Plus, I wouldn’t want other people washing my family’s underwear!
Wrinkled sheets are the least of my problems. But if you find a cure for them – let me know!

I, too, start to twitch when I see wrinkled sheets…but I’ve slowly let it go. (I wrote a post a while back about our Guest Room sheets…and I did iron those. Ack!)
I put the sheets on as soon as they come out of the dryer and then call that it.
I have found that the 100% cotton ones are the worst. The ones that are a blend don’t wrinkle nearly as much.
