WiiFitOur Wii and Wii Fit contest is over and we are thrilled to announce Lucretia Pruitt is our winner. Thank you to all who entered!

I’ll admit it: I have never liked video games. So, when Nintendo contacted me about becoming a Wii Fit “Brand Enthusiast,” I chuckled. Me? Pimp a gaming system?

But then I threw a Wii Fit party. For the first time in my life, I hoola hooped, ski jumped and did yoga without killing myself. And I very quickly figured out what the hype is all about.

I have not missed a day since I received my Wii Fit. I can’t. My personal trainer who tracks my progress would kick my virtual butt. You see, the Wii Fit functions like a scale tracking balance, weight, BMI and lets you know how well (or not well) you’re doing. I think the word it uses is “unbalanced.”

But I could have told you that.

I am thrilled to announce we will be giving away a Wii and a Wii Fit to one lucky winner!

Horton DVD Set 3D 1 In case you’re not the grand prize winner, we also have copies of two of the hottest DVDs of the holiday season: Horton Hears a Who and Fly Me to the Moon. I’ll probably throw in even a few more prizes because I’m nice like that.

Now, the Wii Fit contest rules:

1. To enter, comment on this post about why you would like a Wii Fit in a few sentences or less. If you include a link on your blog about this contest or include it on your facebook, twitter or other networking site, you may enter as many as five times. Please include the link. If your comment does not immediately show up, don’t worry. We will retrieve it out of the spam folder for you.

2. You must fill out your full name and email address in the comment section (your email will not be published and will not be used for any purpose other than this contest).

3. Contest will end at noon, Mountain Time, December 20, 2008.

4. United States residents only. (Yes, is breaks my heart to exclude my fellow Canucks.)

5. Fulfillment will be handled by Nintendo, so you must be willing to provide your real name, phone number and mailing address if selected as the winner.

6. Nintendo expects to ship the prize two weeks after notification of the winner’s details.

Good luck!

I just had a baby 3 months ago and really need to lose those extra baby pounds! I would love to win a Wii Fit so that I could get into shape at home and still be able to watch my baby. This would be the answer to all the excuses I have for not being able to exercise. I would love to be the lucky winner!! Thanks :-)

I would like a wii fit because they are so very cool. I recently was exposed to the whole video game world. We have 5 children in our house and have managed to stay away from video games until now. We were trying to decide between Nintendo and XBox and something else my husband said but I can’t remember! Until I returned from a wii party, he was in charge of this purchase. Luckly he hadn’t purchased anything because I am soooo totally hooked on this wii thing! The wii fit is so fun. My favorite part is that all the kids (ages 2 1/2 to 15) can play together on some level - a real family adventure! I would love to be the winner!!!
    Thank you!

I would love to win this Wii and Wii Fit…Not for myself as we have a Wii already but for muy daughters teacher who desperately wants one and can’t justify shelling out the money! If I won i would definitely give it to her and she would be thrilled. Thank you for the chance!

I would love the chance to win the Wii and Wii Fit! Now that the weather is colder (and it’s snowing as I’m typing this), being motivated to exercise outside (or anywhere at all in weather like this) takes more and more energy. From what I’ve seen, the Wii Fit makes it easy AND fun to exercise, and those are the two ingredients I need to make reaching my fitness goals even more of a reality.

Plus, this will give me an easy opportunity to exercise with my daughter, and I think that building that habit now will greatly impact *her* fitness level for the future.

    Ode to a wii fit:

What a beauteous site to behold a wii-fit for our excercise room. We might never buy thee because the stores can’t keep thee in stock. Thou wilt keep us in good health all the rest of our lives and never tell the secrets of how old we are to anybody but us.

I would give the wii and the wii fit to my sister and brother in-law. They have five kids and will never be able to afford one.

I don’t want much. My cell phone is ancient and my husband, who’s kind of a gear nerd is always hearing me ask “why?” when he says we need a new [fill in gadget here.]. We’re a modest household and because I’m the main breadwinner and a freelancer, we’re pretty careful about how we spend our income. But oh, my, god, I don’t know if I’ve fallen for the ads or am somehow channeling an 11 year old… I want a Wii. I wouldn’t go out and buy one, there’s just no way I could justify the expense, but should I win one, well, there I’d be, in the basement practicing yoga and playing… what…have they released Ukulele Hero for the Wii yet?

  • Sheri Larsen (head nurse) said:

I would love a Wii Fit and system because I have a hard time finding the time to workout away from home, and I only have 10 months until my son returns from his mission. I have the misfortune to be gaining weight at an alarming rate due to my time in life :( .

  • Andrea Hope said:

I need to lose my baby weight and with a 6 mo. old and 3 yr old at home getting out in the snow to exercise doesn’t happen. I’ve played a friends wii and it was awesome. A wii fit looks even more wonderful and right up my alley!

We husband and I would love a Wii Fit, what with snowy weather it’s a little hard to ride our bikes outside! I would like to introduce him to Yoga too. He had surgery a little over a year ago and he is supposed to stay active to retain his strength and flexibility. Our son could participate in the fun too.
    Thanks!

  • Christi Mayo said:

I love to work out, but rarely get the chance since I had my baby. I’d love the convenience of being able to work out in my home and with all the options that Wii Fit has in just one program. Being able to track my progress is encouraging too.

I told the boys (9 & 11) that they don’t need video games and they should play outside, so now I’ll look like a hypocrite if I go buy myself this. But. If I were to receive it as a prize? Totally acceptable. And, I won’t have to get up at 4am to go rowing anymore. I can do it in the basement. YAY!

    Off to twitter about it…http://twitter.com/bigglasses

My husband has always been a video game fanatic…I have not. We have shielded the kids from video games as much as possible…we have two bookcases filled with books. Recently I went to a co-workers party and fell in love with the Wii system…it is much more interactive and promotes group participation unlike any other system. I think our family of 5 will enjoy it very much and help my husband his family video game dream!

I’ve been wanting a Wii Fit!!! I had lost a good bit of weight and then this summer I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and had to stop exercising, per my DR, for a couple of months. I’m just now getting back into it and I would love to have the personal trainer!! I also don’t even own a scale, so I’d love having it to keep track of my weight as well as BMI!! This would be great! I would kill (figuratively) for a Wii & Wii Fit!! Or even beg! Or Twitter! or or or… :)

  • Anissa@Hope4Peyton said:

Ok, here’s the thing. I would really use the Wii fit because I’m on a new and improved health kick…I wrote about it here http://tiny.cc/pUorE.

But we already have a Wii. What I’d really like to do is this: my daughter just finished up 2.5 years of chemotherapy and in that time I’ve met some amazing families. The financial strain on a cancer family makes things like new Wii’s impossible. I would like to just donate the Wii to a family coping with a pediatric cancer.

So pick me and you’ll be able to make families very happy.

In a few sentences or less? *whew* I’m a WAHM who’s almost always sitting (at the computer or at my jewelry table) for work. My kids are homeschooled, so it’s easy to stay in one seat or another all day with no exercise other than walking laundry up and down the stairs. I’ve tried jumping on the bed with the kids and that just doesn’t work for me. I’d love to have something that’s fun for me to do that will also be fun for the kids to watch, and vice versa.

Thanks for this opportunity to win!

Weight loss and fun aside. I need a Wii Fit for health purposes. I am a 31 year old mother of two that was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis eight years ago now. After the birth of my second child in May, my symptoms have increased in severity. My balance is worse then my four year old son. My nuerologist advised that I do yoga to improve my strength, coordination and balance. Having a four yr old and 7 month old and working leaves little time to go to an actual yoga class in town. A Wii fit would allow me to take on my neurologists recommendations. I just don’t have the money to purchase one myself. Having a chronic illness gets quite expensive.

Love it! How cool is this?! I’d love to have the Wii and Wii Fit. I’m a stay at home mom and have a husband that works long hours - I can’t get to a gym at reasonable hours. My reason(s) to win, well . . .

So my son is almost 14 months old, so he isn’t new. I don’t necessarily have a goal to loose weight but to maintain it as I’m weaning from breastfeeding and scared my lost weight is going to explode from within me somewhere. We are like everyone else trying to figure out how to afford Christmas with the economy and all and scared we wont be able to get for one another. We aren’t the biggest video game fans but the one we would love to own is the Wii fit. This “videogame” stopped us in our tracks at the mall. This would be perfect for a couple recovering from Thanksgiving, and a cookie exchange. Yeah I said it, recovering. You should see those cookies! Don’t believe me, visit my blog at:

I would Love a WII Fit as I recently found out I am Pre Diabetic and obviously losing weight will drastically reduce my chances of getting full blown diabetes! It is winter in CO and in fact we just got hit with a BIG snow storm today! Anyway with cruddy roads it is tough to get to the gym and so would love to be able to work out in my home! They also say that once I lose the weight and fix my pre-diabetes I might be able to get preganant! which is of course what I would love more than anything!! Thank you for reading and I will tweet and Plurk about your blog as well as blog it myself and put it out onb Myspace!!!

so i blame YOU for putting it on my Christmas list and enduring the look and “really?” from my husband. winning it would wipe that smirk from his face.

    4. With family all over the country - it’d be a great way to have fun while keeping in touch (playing Wii together through our network)
    3. I’ve been NAGGING my husband for one for YEARS (ago, maybe A year, but a year nonetheless!)
    2. Can’t afford a personal trainer - so I need a Wii Fit personal trainer!!
    1. For one more thing to do with my darling family!!

Wow, I am like you Amber not a gamer at all, but I tried the Wii once at a friends and really liked it.

I would love to be able to do some of the exercise programs because I can’t afford to go to do Yoga.

Also, I would love to have that game that you can play interactively with a friend that is somewhere else and have a conversation.

I would like to win this Wii Fit because it might save my life. You see I live in an Igloo in Alaska. Every time I go outside to exercise I run the risk of being eaten by a polar bear. With a Wii fit I could exercise indoors and not only stay fit but stay alive…in more ways than one.

“Wow Wii!” is what I say!

A Wii Fit would be incredible for our family. Not only would I love a Wii Fit to get some more exercise, but my whole family would have a blast using it - especially when it is cold and snowy outside. My little ones need to get that extra energy out and that is more difficult to do when the weather is bad.

Low impact, that is what I need with a Wiiiiii.

I’ve been trying to win a Wii for a year now. We work with college students via a nondemoninational Christian mission group, and have found it to be a huge draw. We’d love to be able to have them over in our home playing Wii with us!!!

Here’s my comment #3 of 5. I am SO hoping to win to Wii!

I really want a Wii, mostly for the Wii Fit, though being able to play games with my husband would be a huge plus and something we would definitely enjoy doing! I need to get some baby weight off and have heard so many good things about the Wii Fit! I would love love love to win!

I want a wii so I can say corny things like “Didn’t WII have fun!” or “Why don’t WII go bowling?!”

I’m really, really corny like that.

I like the idea of a Wii on two fronts:
With 3 kids under age five, I am finding it harder and harder to squeeze in time for the gym. A Wii would mean getting more exercise at home. You know, other than chasing three kids around.
Also, I have shied away from owning ANY game system because of how much you sit while doing it. If we’re going to let a game system into the house, it needs to help, not hurt, us get more activity into our days!

I would love to win a Wii fit because I need a way to become active and healthy again. I have baby weight to lose, but my daughter is very attached and I cannot leave her with a sitter or at daycare so that I can go to the gym. The Wii fit would be a way for me to exercise at home with her.

I would love to give this thing a try! I am sick of the treadmill for winter cardio workouts, and we can’t really afford something else right now…

I feel like the last person on the planet to get a Wii. We have tried them out at the mall and thought it looked so fun but just don’t have the funds to purchase it. And the Wii fit would be so nice to keep me motivated not to gain too much weight while pregnant.

I would love to have the Wii and Wii fit, cuz I am having a baby in a few short months, and once the baby is here, I’d love to shed a few pounds. My kids are dying to get a Wii too, and I’ve heard they are so much fun for families to play together.

I need a Wii fit because I can’t afford to leave my family for twelve weeks to join the Biggest Losers at their swanky ranch! Who would feed my fish while I was gone?
