I have a calorie range that I aim for, and at the end of the day, if I still have some calories left at the low end of the range, I&#039;ll have a little handful of chocolate chips or something else sweet and small.  Occasionally, like invited to a friend&#039;s house for dinner, I&#039;ll be careful of what I eat that day, but then I&#039;ll have the wine, and the bread, and the dessert at dinner -- because it&#039;s fun and social (and rude not to eat what someone&#039;s cooked, right?).  As long as the &quot;cheats&quot; are far from the norm, I think it&#039;s healthy.  Otherwise, it becomes a lifestyle you can&#039;t maintain.  And lifestyle change is the only way really to keep off the weight.
