On-board, the comfort and vintage styling of the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad sets a nostalgic tone as the train makes its way from the quaint southern Colorado town of La Veta, just 16 miles west of Walsenburg (just over 2 hours from Denver, straight down I-25), to the top of La Veta Pass, operating on the same standard gauge rails that were built more than 100 years ago to carry freight and passengers.

Designated the Scenic Line of the World, the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad offers families comfortable seating and panoramic views of area wildlife, sweeping mountain meadows, cliffs and canyons only accessible by the train.
