MakeBeliever Makes a Believer Out of Me (Plus Giveaways)
I have discovered what is perhaps the most innovative, brilliant and gloriously manipulative Santa tool EVER.
Let’s face it – those mall Santas are clueless with their fake beard and padded stomach. They don’t know who your child is or care what they want for Christmas.
It is a highly personalized Flash video from a live Santa that you create for the recipient of your choice, delivered by email. Recipients like…say…for your children. Children who just may have been nice or who may need a little “naughty” nudge in the right direction. Like in the direction towards a potty.
Before you judge me, the doctor told me to do it. For “potty underachievers,” he recommended we dangle an incentive as motivation. We have done a year’s worth of hangings: from toys to treats to television. Nothing has worked. Santa is our last hope.
I realize the intention behind MakeBeliever’s fun greetings is not to manipulate the recipient. But not to be forgotten is my Christmas wish for ol’ St. Nick: a diaper-free holiday.
As Hadley viewed the video, she was mesmerized when Santa checked off her favorite things: her birthday, her favorite color and animal. He even knew she wanted a little computer for Christmas and commended her for being nice to her brother.
But then came the [optional] “naughty list” and the mention of her potty habits. Or lack thereof. She gritted her teeth and said, “Uh oh.” But never once did she back down from the challenge of The Man in Red.
She viewed it 13 times before we finally dragged her away. I am hopeful that 13 times is enough for osmosis to set in.

It hasn’t worked but yet I am still hoping. :-)
I have heard so many “never dos” when it comes to potty training. I figure, if it works, GO FOR IT! I’m coming upon potty training trial #4 and with every kid it is so different that I really have no clue what i’m doing. I seriously believe that every mom should hire a nanny for 3 months and pay them to potty train your child.

Not sure if I’d buy. The customizable portion is only audible and not really visible. Not sure how ‘customized’ that makes the greeting. The graphics aren’t clear enough/busy enough to keep my 3 year old sitting in front of a 3 inch PC video of Santa – Santa’s pretty small. My kid’s beyond potty training but hasn’t quite put together that Santa and gifts go hand and hand….not sure how old your kids are to be potty training and also understand Santa is the one that brings the gifts, but hey, if a gimmick helps get the little one out of daipers, then I’m definitely all for that!!

I’ve told my son that all I want for Christmas is for him to use the potty. He’ not going for it.
Oh, how I HATE potty training! I have decided that I am simply not going to do it when our 3rd is old enough. Either that, or talk to the Barf Fairy’s friend, the Potty Pixie (read post on my blog)…
I had our second one mostly potty-trained by her older sister (age 5 at the time). I gave them both m&m’s for potty trips. :)
Try sneaking the computer screen under her pillow at night, with it playing on an endless loop…
