Why do YOU love being a Mile High Mama contest
Last Wednesday, I went biking with baby along the extensive network of trails near my house. Thursday, I hiked Red Rocks with my neighbors. Friday, it was off to Lion’s Park in Golden where we pelted sand at innocent passers-by from the playground’s gargantuan sandbox. Saturday, was The Great Grape Massacre Stomp at Belmar’s Festival Italiano.
All this whilst wheezing and seizing from allergies.
These are just a few reasons why I love being a Mile High Mama (well, most of them, anyway). We want to hear from you! Why do you love being a Mile High Mama? What are your favorite local activities with your family?
Keep it fun, keep it creative and drop me a line at Amber@milehighmamas.com by September 30th.
The winner will receive four passes to Barnum and Bailey’s Circus Bellobration that will be held at the Denver Coliseum October 4-14. The winner and select entries will also be published on Mile High Mamas.

Anyone up for a challenge?
Joe Murphy, Senior Developer at The Denver Post, recently posted this little gem on the newspaper’s forum.

Mile High Mamas, a new Denver Post blog and community focused on being a mother in Colorado, soft-launched today. The Mamas use a forum on Neighbors, but without the Denver Post look-and-feel.
My prediction: The Mamas forum will have the fewest incidents of the word “Nazi” of all the forums on Neighbors.
Prove me wrong, mamas, prove me wrong.
Evidently, the man has never encountered those Nazi grape-stomping, mountain-biking, sand-throwing moms at the playground….
P.S. That is incident #1, Joe.

Clearly he isn’t fully aware of how out of hand mommy topics can get!
Nazi, huh? Does being a broccoli Nazi to my poor kids count?
I am a music Nazi mom! I make my kids practice the piano every day for at least a half hour!
I am the veritable SOUP Nazi mom. NO SOUP FOR YOU!
My theme song is “Springtime for Hitler” in “The Producers.” Oh wait. That doesn’t use use Nazi. Oh wait again. I just did!
Sorry to disappoint y’all, but this blog post and these comments don’t count in the Nazi-tally. You’ll have to post the other N-word in the Mamas forums to make it on my radar…

Anyone who does not think mom and Nazi go together has not been to a PTA meeting.
Or some of the mommy groups out there!
Ewwww, I love being a Mile High Mama! Count me in!
So many reasons why I love living here. First of all, it was the Children’s Hospital that brought us. Now that we are all healthy, we decided to stay.
I second, third, fourth the above statements! I love Denver for the seasons but I hear you on the allergies.
Allergies kill me, too! I could make a Nazi reference here but will refrain.
I am glad the site is up and running! It looks great and I am so happy to have a resource like this in Denver!
I love Denver. I just moved here from back East and can’t think of anything I don’t like. Of course, I haven’t survived those Nazi winters of yours yet….
Nazis, Mile High Mamas, we have it all. I have been board and raised here and plan to never leave. I also want to start a blog and am glad for the starter guides you included.
If it’s Nazi laundry, it’s ze dishes.
It’s always ze somzing ven yer de mom.

I love being a Mile High Mama because it helps me get in touch with my feminine side and it helps me express my feelings more powerfully.
Who wants a hug?
Wow, I had no idea there were so many Nazi moms out there.
Nazi Mile High Moms, that is!
I love what you have done with the place. Am seriously excited to see other Nazi bloggers out there….
Just too much fun here. I think Mitch may be onto something in becoming a Mama.
One of my favorite things about Denver is all the bikepaths, too. I love that I can walk outside my door and connect anywhere in the city. Though I don’t know about pulling baby around!
The site looks great! Looking forward to reading more!
Amber, Jordann here. Even though I am not yet a mile high mama, I am sure excited to read about those who are. Something to look forward to someday. Thanks for always making me smile!
